Spencer Powers
Co-founder, CEO
Spencer started collaborating with fellow co-founders, Dr. Yichen Shen and Professor Marin Soljacic, in 2015 when studying at MIT. Prior to starting Lux Labs, Spencer co-founded ArtLifting. Spencer earned an MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management and a BA in economics from Boston College.
Dr. Yichen Shen
Co-founder, Board Member
Yichen is co-founder of Lux Labs and the inventor of optical angular selective material. Yichen earned a PhD in Physics from MIT as well as a BA in mathematics, BS in physics, and MA in mathematics from Johns Hopkins. Yichen is a Forbes 30 Under 30 recipient in the Energy category.
Dr. Marin Soljacic
Co-founder, Board Member
Marin is a professor of physics at MIT and board member of Lux Labs. Marin is also a co-founder of WiTricity Corporation and a MacArthur Fellow.
Dr. John Joannopoulos
Co-founder, Advisor
John is professor of physics at MIT and advisor to Lux Labs. John is also the co-founder of OmniGuide, Luminus Devices, WiTricity Corporation, and Typhoon HIL, a member of the National Academy of Sciences, and a director of the Institute for Soldier Nanotechnologies.
Dr. Wei Li
Sr. Product Engineer
Wei is the lead engineer and nanoparticle chemist here at Lux Labs. After Wei completed her PhD in Chemistry from Boston College, she joined Lux Labs and led the development to bring the transparent display from lab to production. Wei is currently working to improve the particle formulation for future generations of our ClearBright™ film, and leads the R&D of our angular selective material.
