HOW TO: Best Content For Transparent Projection Screens

Our transparent display screens work by scattering projected light(content from a projector) and as such black doesn’t show up due to that “color” being the absence of light. This allows you to create some pretty cool visuals projected without any background on the screen. The key is to use content(either still images or videos) set to a fully black background so the only light that gets scattered and projected is what you want to see. To contrast, projecting a TV show onto our transparent screens will look totally normal(except you can still see thru behind the content) since colors other than black take up the full rectangular picture in most instances.

So, if you want to create your own content, let’s say to project on a storefront window to draw in customers from the street, how do you do it without advanced software? Our quick work around is powerpoint. Simply set all slides with a black background and the only content you will see is what you add on top.

Here’s a screenshot of some slides on the computer(I use keynote instead of powerpoint). Looks pretty normal right?

It’s also pretty easy to add some simple animation using the built in features on powerpoint. Last, save as a video and you’re all set(check that transition times are where you want them). The big advantage of projected content is that it can change on the fly without having to reprint signs and deal with the associated labor. Here’s the full video projected on our display screen:

The possibilities are truly endless but the point is that it’s easy to create an eye catching fully see through display using simple features on standard computer software paired with our transparent display technology.
